Four Corners StoryTelling Festival
Well, unfortunately I missed the event, but I went to visit my grandchildren up in Utah. My grandson's 7th birthday
was October 2nd and my granddaughter's birthday was Saturday, October 11th. I couldn't resist my grandchildren's birthdays.
I had to go and visit them and say "Happy Birthday!" My daughter-in-law baked a princess cake and it looked so real.
My granddaughter is into princess stuff. I got her a princess sweat jacket and sweat pants. She loved it!
But on the subject of the storytelling, in my other reading class, we've had students come into our class and tell us
their stories. These students are probably the same ones that participated in the Storytelling Festival. The
students did a wonderful job and I could tell that they worked hard on their stories.

Linda Gentille
Linda Gentille performed at the Brooks/Isham Performing Arts Center in Kirtland on November
7, 2008. It was a very delightful evening and just a wonderful performer. She is a professional pianist who toured
with Liberace. She played various types of music including requests from the audience. Her performance should
not be missed for anything! She played along with the San Juan College Jazz Band and also had the Kirtland Elementary
School choir sing. This performance was dedicated to the veterans and it was very appropriate to honor our heroes.
Linda played a lot of Ragtime music by Scott Joplin, Billy Joel and her grandmother who wrote "Rebecca at the Well".
December 6, 2008
I attended a Christmas play at Kirtland PAC. It was the Community Christmas Concert; every year
there is a community involvement with everyone being invited to participate in celebrating Christmas. This year was
different-a play was put on involving members of the community. The name of the play: "The Forgotten Carols"
written by Michael McLean and music by Michael McLean. The play will be presented at San Juan College Little Theater
on December 19, 2008. Music was presented by the Kirtland Community Christmas Choir. The play was a nurse who
did not celebrate Christmas and was put in charge to care for an elderly man during the holidays-before Christmas. She
made sure everyone called her Constance, but the elderly patient kept calling her Connie Lou. The patient helped Connie
Lou receive the Christmas spirit because Connie Lou never put up a Christmas tree before. She saying: "I can't
change and this is not happening to me!" She finally did change her attitude about Christmas, but she could not find
the elderly man. Was he from the past as he said because he saw the sheperds, the new star and babe wrapped in swalding
clothes.
